This home was aged and cramped. The existing deck was weather damaged. The bathroom was small, extremely worn, outdated, and shared by a family of five. The existing laundry was imposing on living space.
Our clients wanted more living space whilst keeping the tropical style of their house. An important aspect was the ability to create an extension that matched and flowed with the existing home through bi-fold doors opening direct to the pool area.
We worked hard to match the existing architecture. The living area was extended with 3.6m bi-fold doors leading out to the new deck and pool. The bathroom was extended and renovated with a sitting deck attached. The laundry was converted into a study / storage area.
The original material was jarrah floors, gyprock walls and fibro external walls. New materials used comprised jarrah, merbau decking, gyprock, 19mm ply to ceilings and custom orb for external walls. For the bathroom we created a mosaic of random spaced stone. All structural components were steel.
