Based a considerable way out of Darwin, construction of this home needed to be comfortable, yet efficient at supplying the home with basic requirements of everyday living.
Due to the formation of the land, the building pad was raised 300mm above natural ground. A 4000L septic with pump out was installed as well as a solar hot water system. The concrete was finished with exposed aggregate, a hard wearing yet attractive finish to concrete.
Utilising louvre windows and large sliding doors allowed breeze and natural light to flow in, keeping the home light and comfortable. The use of timber in the cabinetry gave a natural feel to the home.
